The food is so great, I had wings recently and they were all really big and perfectly cooked. I had the Nashville honey hot sauce and it's my favorite wing sauce I've ever had. Their fries are really well seasoned and everything was great I ordered with UberEats and something went wrong with the app so I got there really early. They offered me a drink and dessert while I waited and were apologetic even though it wasn't their fault. Everyone was nice and the food is great and great prices!
So, someone told my husband about this place a few months ago, and we finally decided to try it. Wow. We got the fried lobster and shrimp dinner which comes with rice and two sides, so my husband got mac and cheese and the garlic hawaiian rolls. I got the shrimp and crab boil which comes with potatoes, sausage, corn and eggs (i asked to sub egg for sausage, but got sausage no egg. My fault for not checking before I left so I am not holding it against them). We got a small garlic parmesan chicken mac and cheese for our daughter. Husband said mac and cheese was on point. It was creamy and cheesy. The rolls were good, the rice was good, but that shrimp and lobster tho!! the seasoning of their batter, wow. The flavor of my crab and shrimp boil whew, so buttery and good. My only issue was my one cluster was only three legs so I wish it was a full cluster I ate some of her garlic parmesan mac and cheese and the chicken was so crunchy and good, and again creamy and cheesy mac. My husband was like wow they have big chunks of parmesan on top! We also got two of the lemonades. Delicious but very sweet! They also were giving away samples of cake. Next time I have to buy a slice. All in all I cannot wait to come back and try something else! Atmosphere wise, this is a little hole in the wall but I do not mean that in a negative way. There is some space to sit down and eat, loud music, not alot of frills..so just keep in mind its not a place to have a quaint lunch! Take it to go to cascades if you want quiet! Also, check them out on social media and follow them, because they post all kinds of specials. I got my boil for half price because of a special that was on instagram. Their instagram is some serious food porn. Highly recommend Great Plates!

(March 2019) So I heard about Great Plates via social media, and could't wait to take a trip to Tallahassee to give it a try. The owner used to have pop-ups prior so I knew his restaurant would be on point. The place is small but spacious (not too much inside seating, so I'd say its a bit intimate). The location is hiding in plain sight. Visited mid-day. The wait time for food wasn't bad; about 30 minutes. The employees are friendly, so they kept us busy during our wait. The food was AMAZING! We ordered the vegan wings (breaded fried broccoli), great lemon pepper wings, chicken Alfredo, Mac & cheese, and seafood rice. The vegan wings didn't get soggy even after the drive back to the house. Such a simple concept executed perfectly. (you can ask for any sauce they have on the side). The wings were fried perfectly and seasoned well. I didn't realize what type of sauce I ordered on my wings until I got it but I was not disappointed. I think the Alfredo was my favorite part. They use penne pasta instead of Alfredo noodles which I actually preferred. The seasoning wasn't too much and the flavor was just right. I would definitely recommend the Mac & cheese and seafood rice (maybe not together because of carbs but! who cares!!) I'll definitely go back to Great Plates if I have the chance.
- 4/5 First I want to start by saying the food I ordered was amazing. The portion was big and definitely filled me up. The reason why I gave 4/5 stars is because it was so damn loud in there. I like good, loud music just as much as the next person but when I can't hardly tell what the cashier is saying due to (1) masks and (2) how loud it is- its not a good mix. I ordered one of the fries options and asked for grilled chicken and got fried instead (to which I didn't know till I got all the way home), I'm guessing the cashier either didn't hear me or it was just gotten wrong. I will be back, however I will probably just order to pick up. I hope this restaurant does well and thrives, the food is amazing, I just hope they turn it down a little. update to add- I'm a bit put off by just HOW MANY bad reviews this place has. I was drawn in because the food looks amazing, however I'm skeptical about IF I really SHOULD go back. how do you have -7.7/5 on FB, something I have never seen before... I feel as if my first experience is the best it's gonna get and maybe I should quite and not go back while I'm ahead.
